Where We Work
Impact One serves in Ng’ombe Compound, a vibrant and resilient community in the heart of Lusaka, Zambia. Home to more than 100,000 residents, Ng’ombe is full of life—families supporting one another, children playing in the streets, and neighbors running small market stands selling everyday essentials.
Like much of Zambia, Ng’ombe faces the challenges of poverty, limited infrastructure, and health concerns. According to the World Bank, more than 71% of people in Zambia live on less than $3.00 a day. Yet Ng’ombe remains a place of remarkable strength and determination, where hope persists and families continue to invest in their children’s futures.
With only two government schools serving more than 30,000 children, most students attend community schools—grassroots schools founded by dedicated local leaders who believe every child deserves to learn. There are now 100 registered community schools in Ng’ombe, educating over 16,500 students.
At Impact One, we partner with these schools to strengthen what’s already there—equipping teachers, training leaders, and expanding access to books and learning opportunities. Together, we’re helping children in Ng’ombe discover their potential and the purpose God has for their lives.
