Created to Create: Sparking Possibilities
From the very beginning, we see a powerful truth: we are made in the image of God. And God is the ultimate Creator—bringing something out of nothing, forming beauty, purpose, and life where there was once emptiness.
At Impact One, our work is rooted in these Scriptural truths. They are not just ideas we believe—they are truths we actively pass on, shaping how we think, lead, and serve within our community. As we walk alongside schools, we are not only supporting education; we are sharing a deeper understanding of who God created us to be and how He wants us to live.
If we are made like Him, then we too are created to create.
This truth shaped our most recent network meeting, where we explored “creative problem solving.”
We defined it simply:
Creativity is about seeing possibilities where others see limits.
For many of our community schools, limits can feel overwhelming. They serve in environments marked by poverty, uncertainty, and constant change. Resources are few. Challenges are many. And yet, within those realities, there is a deep calling in our school directors to create solutions.
We see this clearly in their stories. Each one chose to start a school as a response to a need in their community—a creative act of courage and vision. But over time, even the most passionate leaders can settle into routine. The weight of daily challenges can slowly pull us all into a rut.
This meeting was about stepping out of that rut and rediscovering possibility through creative problem solving.
Stretching Our Thinking
We began with a simple but powerful exercise:
How many different ways can you use a cup besides drinking from it?
At first, the answers came easily. A pencil holder. A shape stencil for class.
And then—a rat trap.
Unexpected? Absolutely.
Creative? Without a doubt.
That’s the essence of creative problem solving—ideas that are not obvious, but are effective.
As laughter filled the room, something deeper was happening. Mindsets were shifting. Walls were coming down. Possibility was expanding.
From Ideas to Real Challenges
From there, we turned to real-life problems schools are facing.
What do you do when attendance is low in your 5th and 6th Grade class?
The room began to buzz with ideas:
Incentives for coming to school
Mentorship programs to encourage consistency
Even organizing a field trip to the local mall
Each idea reflected a willingness to think differently—to move beyond “this is how it’s always been done.”
Taking Creativity Beyond the Meeting
Our network meetings are not designed to simply share ideas and walk away. They are designed to spark real change within each school’s unique context.
So we set a challenge to take creative problem solving to their setting:
Choose one real problem. Brainstorm solutions. Select the most creative idea and put it into action.
Already this week, we’re seeing those ideas come to life.
One school recognized that parents are often too busy to attend meetings. Instead of accepting this as a barrier, they saw an opportunity.
They are creating home activity packs - simple, engaging activities that children can do with their parents. By bringing connection into the home, they hope to increase involvement, encourage learners, and inspire families.
It’s simple. It’s unexpected. And it’s exactly the kind of change we aim to spark.
This Is What Our Network Looks Like
This is the beauty of our network.
We come together to share ideas that spark growth.
We walk alongside one another as we test those ideas.
We refine, adapt, and keep going - together.
Change doesn’t happen overnight. But it grows when people are empowered to think differently and act boldly.
Created in His Image
At the heart of it all is this truth: We are made in the image of God.
And because of that, we are made to create—to see possibility where others see limits, to bring solutions where there are problems, to build, to innovate, and to transform.
This is how change begins, and this is how restoration unfolds—not just in schools, but in entire communities.
As we continue this journey, we are not just solving problems. We are mentoring people into the fullness of who God created them to be, and empowering them to take their place in His ministry of reconciliation in the world around them.
And in doing so, we are seeing His design come to life - one creative step at a time.
